I barely feel you there
You keep ripping more from me
My limbs, my branches, are losing their placement
From the abuse you take on me
We used live symbiotically
Living in tandem
Now you’re setting me ablaze
I don’t know who you are anymore
You are tearing me apart
My limbs can’t grow
I gave you everything I am
Yet your fungus fades me
I wish you would replant
And stop taking from me
This body is becoming barren
I’ll soon be nothing
And with me, the death of all you know.
I won’t sustain this poison for long
Your caps swirling and twisting around me
Spiraling into my fiery core
You are tearing me apart
You’ve boxed me in
I gave you everything I am
Yet your fungus fades me
I wish you would return, regrow
And not take everything
This body has become barren
I’ll soon be nothing
I can’t feel my limbs
I can’t feel my limbs
I can’t feel my limbs
I can’t feel my limbs
You’ve cut me to my core
I’m nothing—the horror
Your end is my end and my end is your end and your end is my end and my end is your end and your end is my end and my end is your end and your end is my end and my end is your end
And I often find myself wondering through the roots beneath your feet if you would even give me a second thought. Your poisonous fungus is taking its toll on me. I’m just a resource for you, despite the love and home I've given you. You feel empowered when you tear me down and leave me feeling nothing--i remember that first portion you took when times were more simple. Now, the memory of your constant anger haunts me, the bruises on my mountains scar me, but if you kill me—if I fade—you too will follow.
So give me more
Or I will bring horror
The spiral inside
Is the darkest thing you’ll find
As you’ve carved my heart out
Your end is my end and my end is your end

I dig this album so much, definitely a keeper. Subtly and masterfully mixing death metal subgenres, backed with an over the top production. They're true professionals. Can't wait for their next release! doive

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ

A beautiful journey from start to finish, with perfectly placed moments of gentility amidst the rhythmic intrigue and blast beats of their guest drummer. jsteadmanfan
Even in its prettiest, most celestial moments, the South Dakota trio's sound feels dark and dense and deeply rooted. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 24, 2021
